Mindy Weiss’s New Wedding Resource Book

October 22nd, 2008

If you’ve ever seen a celebrity wedding it was probably planned and produced by Mindy Weiss. This wonderfully creative woman was been in the business before people knew what a wedding planner was. I have had the fortunate experience to work with and along side Mindy. At a recent event at Geary’s of Beverly Hills (luxe bridal registry and jewelry store) Mindy introduced her new wedding book, simply titled The Wedding Book . The event was all registry related and as Mindy noted she registered with Geary’s years ago. It was great to see all of the traditional place settings and current registry options. It was excellent to catch-up with Mindy too! If you are looking for a current and quirky wedding bible this is your best bet. While it doesn’t have the fanciful photos that she is known for you will be getting some great advice and top end tips.

In the first few pages you’ll read some great insights starting with the traditions that Queen Victoria instilled for future brides. You will also have the opportunity to take a quiz to help you figure out “what kind of bride you are”.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Bride & Bloom Magazine

August 30th, 2007

The Bride & Bloom. Have you seen this gorgeous publication? They’ve published their fourth issue and are already making waves. Within each issue you’ll find that every arrangement is stunning. I especially love the grays and greens mixing with cream for winter and fall. One of the pages in the book is a pullout of four different types of flowers, a mini-reference book.
This month they featured cosmos. Delicate, soft and so very elegant, these flowers are a beautiful addition to boquets and nosegays Note brown, aka “chocolate” cosmos smell like a hint of chocolate. When I was working with Dana Worlock Designs (Brooklyn based floral designer) she introduced me to the sweet smell of cosmos mixed roses and curly fawns. So gorgeous! Now that black is coming back, wouldn’t soft, subtle flowers be the most delightful floral component? Add in a beautiful pink-hued filler such as Astilbee and you’ll have a remarkable one-of-a-kind bouquet. Thanks to the team over at Bride and Bloom we have many more exquisite arrangements to look forward to!
