Great finds for your wedding or home!

February 20th, 2010

Is your wedding vision in need of some creative little details and pieces? Whether you have a vintage or modern style in mind for your wedding, Jamali Garden can spruce up your wedding day. You’ll find all your creative needs from antique mercury vases, votives, milk bottles, candle holders, bamboo vases, table runners, to mini chandeliers.

For that vintage touch? Take a look at their collection of antique, mercury vases and votives (Example Photos Below). Also, they carry great chandeliers, Candelabras, and lighting options to create a romantic and intimate feeling. For that rustic, modern feel look at their bamboo, willow, and wood collection. Their “natural pots” and boxed vases are stunning. Do you have a tree as a focal point at your wedding or an aisle that needs sprucing? These boxwood wreaths and balls (Photos Below) will make great additions. Recommended for indoors, though they can make it outside for the wedding day! ;)

Furthermore, known for their garden supplies, Jamali Garden will provide any green thumb with all the essentials to a magical landscape.

Apothecary Jars

November 12th, 2009

Check out these fancy Apothecary Jars on Save on Crafts. These glass jars would be perfect for a candy display or unique way to house flowers for a centerpiece (ooh la la!). Check out the inspiration images on the website for great ideas! The vases range in all sizes and shapes and at affordable prices. I also love the bias cut bowl, it’s an unique way to put candy in and convenient for guests to have access to the yummy eats!

Also, I could go on forever to tell you what else is available on the website. Some great finds are: birdcage card collector, a variety of fiber optics and paper lanterns, branches, peacock feathers, and stylish guest books! Also, everyday the site features 20-50% of the retail prices.

Note: Don’t forget to grab some scoopers and tongs… no sticky paws for your guests at the end of the night!

Love It

July 27th, 2009

marthas-photo-screen-boardWe love this little gem of an idea. Many couples are adding family photos to their reception area. Friends and family love to see the new Mr. & Mrs. in diapers but where can you put these precious pieces where you know they’ll be safe and visually enticing? Martha’s crew created a lovely example of what can be a sweet spot for memory making.

What is your favorite idea du jour?

The Importance of Lighting and the love of Lanterns

July 23rd, 2009

Lantern Ceremony 2

When putting together visuals for her upcoming wedding a bride sent me this photo, I fell in love. The lanterns are elegant and a bit sexy. I like the idea of stringing them in open air and creating amibiance and visual context.

Considering that lighting often falls off the list I want to remind you how important it can be at your wedding. The warmth of table candle lighting, glowing amber walls and pin lights on the cake can turn a regular ballroom into a romantic setting. Dance floor lighting can help get people off their seats and highlight the fun that is coming after dinner. The right lighting can create what all the napkins and linens fall short on under bright white bulbs, warmth.

Consider having a consult with a lighting team while planning your wedding. Ask for photos of the reception site with different lighting treatments. You may just find that spending a bit of your budget on lighting can lessen the cost of other categories by creating the “feel”.
