Silverware & China Tips
December 27th, 2009
Questions have been fluttering if formal china is really worth having? The notion these days for brides, is china will be either be passed down from their grandmother or it will be rarely used and not worth shelling out the money.
However, “It adds a sense of occasion to the holidays and really sets off that your guests are welcome and important,” Cassandra weighs in. From her days working with Martha Stewart and love for tabletop decor, Cassandra knows quite a bit about china, crystal, and flatware. This “old-fashioned” tradition can be updated and modern in adding pieces that are bit different, but still within the same style family. “Not coordinating exactly is a more current approach to tabletop. I also have a very simple pattern of dinner plates that I can add a fun salad or dessert plate to at any time”.
As for silverware, you want to look at quality and style preference. The more silver the flatware has, the more expensive it will be. To keep it simple and less expensive, look for plain patterns that will match with any china.
Don’t be afraid to add some china and flatware into your wedding registry. You want to to aim for 8-12 place settings. Still need help finding pieces for the perfect tabletop?
